The jump

Today is a wonderful winter day and the sun is shining brightly. Dr. K. Nickel is on his way to the hillside. He´ s a little bit frightened because it is his first tour.
He nervously arrives at the hillside. “Oh, oh, This is steep! “, he says frightened . After that he goes to the back of his car and takes his skis out. Then he carries his skis under his arm and walks happily through the snow to the hillside. He puts his skis on his feet. And now he´s ready to start. He pushes very slowly at the beginning. After half an hour he skis confidently downhill. Now he is the fastest man on the hill. Suddenly he notices that he is at top speed. His ears fly in the wind and his legs shake badly. “Be careful! Be careful! I´m a beginner and my skis are skiing with me! I can´t stop!”, he shouts frightened. There is a little bend on the hillside. But Dr. K. Nickel can´t brake or turn right. So he rides towards a little hole in front of him. Suddenly he gets the feeling that he is flying through the sky. He does a trick in the air, so he lands head down in the hole. But it is Dr. K. Nickel´s lucky day. His skis stop over the hole. So he is hanging between earth and sky. With a weak voice he starts singing the Beatles´song: “Help, is there anybody? Help, oh, I need someone! Heeelllppp!!!”
After a minute about 15 people are standing around him and clap their hands. Then they altogether save him and pull him out of the hole.
An awkward situation

It’s a wonderful Saturday morning. “Wake up Dr. K. Nickel. You have got a football match today.”, shouts Merlin from downstairs . “OK, OK. I’m coming.”, answers Dr. K. Nickel. They have breakfast and they talk about the results of the coming football match. ”The opponents are playing very well.”, says Dr. K. Nickel . Merlin looks at the rabbit and quickly says: ”Hurry up the game starts in twenty minutes.” And they go to their car and drive away.
On the way Dr. K. Nickel gets very nervous. Finally the car stops in front of the gymnasium. The trainer comes out and says : ”Hallo Dr. K. Nickel, nice to see you. Today we need you very much .” DR .K. Nickel is one of the best strikers. They put on their clothes and go on the football field .The referee whistles and the match begins. Immediately Dr .K. Nickel takes the ball and runs to the opponents’ goal.
The opponents are very weak. Nobody is as fast as Dr. K. Nickel. Now he is alone in front of the goal. He wants to put the ball into the net, but suddenly his enemy Dr. B. Pickel shouts from the stand: ”You will never put the ball into the net!” After the first half the result is 1-1 . Merlin encourages his friend: ”You will score the next goal.” In the second half Dr.K.Nickle feels very, very strong. The minutes are passing by and Dr.K.Nickel sees his chance. He runs alone to the goal. He does not hear what the trainer says. He runs as fast as never before and puts the ball into the net . He throws his arms in the air and shouts as loudly as he can: ”GOAL!” He is very happy about this goal. He thinks, he is the best footballplayer in the world. When he looks at the spectators he sees that he is the only one who cheers. Everybody looks very angrily at him. Now he understands what was wrong: He has put the ball into the own net! He wants to die.
He goes home as fast as he can, lays down in bed and says to himself : ”On Monday morning I must absolutely buy new glasses!”
A ghost??

“Nickel, hurry up. We´re waiting.”, says Merlin. Dr K Nickel, Merlin and Aunt Agatha want to go to the Nordfolk Broads. There they want to hire a boat, too. Now Nickel is ready. And they go to the station. The train is very old. And Dr K Nickel doesn´t like this train. Finally they arrive.
On the Nordfolk Broads they hire a boat. The boat is very nice and they unpack their things. Dr K Nickel sleeps in one room. Merlin sleeps on the sofa and Aunt Agatha sleeps next to Nickel.
In the first night Nickel can´t sleep. Suddenly he hears somebody in the kitchen. Slowly he gets up and goes towards the kitchen. And there, in the kitchen he sees...
“Ahhh”, Nickel wants to shout, but he can´t speak. “Help! I can´t speak. That´s terrible. I can´t speak. Oh no.”, he thinks.
Suddenly the person - no it isn´t a person – slowly comes towards Nickel. “ You can´t speak. That´s good. You ask: ´ Why do you know what I think.´ I know what you think, because I´m a ghost.”, says the something. “No you aren´t a ghost.”, thinks Nickel. “ Oh yes I´m a ghost.” ,answers the ghost. “ You can´t kill me, because my friend is a magician.”, thinks Nickel.
” A magician? Help!”, shouts the ghost and the kitchen is empty. “Help!”, shouts Nickel, too.
“ What happened?”, asks Aunt Agatha, she comes into the kitchen. “There was a ghost”, says Nickel. “ You had a dream. Go to bed. Sleep well.”, says Aunt Agatha and goes to bed.
“There was a ghost!”, says Nickel and goes to bed.
An exciting trip

On a nice Sunday afternoon Dr. K. Nickle would like to hire a canoe. He goes to the Norfolk Broads, because there are so many rivers and lakes. He wants to fish. 20 minutes later he sits in the canoe with his fishing rod. He thinks it is very easy, because he fishes regularly. After he caught some fishes, he eats them. Today he is waiting and waiting, but no fish is coming. He's very tired and disappointed. But suddenly a fish takes the bait. Dr. K Nickle is so happy. But the fish is very strong. It pulls at the fishing rod. Now it even pulls Dr. k. Nickle into the water. "Oh, no. Help. Help!", shouts Dr. K. Nickle. “Dr. K. Nickle, what is going on? You can’t sleep in the canoe. Why did you shout ”HELP”?”, asks Diana, she has hired a canoe, too. All that was a dream.” Oh, I must have fallen asleep.“, said Dr. K. Nickle.
Then Diana and Dr. K. Nickle give the canoes back. 40 minutes later they cook a fish from the deep-freeze.
